Job Description

Purpose:

The Benefits Analyst is responsible for complex analysis and tracking of benefit plans, including data analytics.  Supports projects such as implementation of new benefit plans or projects related to annual open enrollment.  Works closely with Finance, HRIS, Human Resources & Payroll as well as third party contacts to help execute and resolve issues. This role requires knowledge of ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide support for 2021 Cobra open enrollment to ensure proper set up and elections
  • Track issues/deadlines to ensure resolution including outreach to employees (if necessary)
  • Supports the delivery of benefits in accordance with plan rules and company policies for Health and Welfare programs
  • Processes benefit billing invoices, including reconciling eligibility
  • Conducts financial analysis and monthly budget reconciliation
  • Works closely with vendors to resolve issues impacting Cobra enrollment, eligibility, and other employee questions
  • Maintains eligibility reporting and conducts monthly review of ACA data ensuring offer of coverage is compliant
  • Facilitates year end ACA process and ensures annual 1095-C forms are filed annually
  • Work collaboratively with HRIS and Payroll teams to ensure HRIS system meets benefits needs and is up to date as it relates to benefit deductions and enrollments.
  • Oversee direct bill and Cobra enrollments to ensure timely reinstatement enrollment with Medical, Dental and Vision and other impacted benefits
  • Oversee the enrollment and terminations of employees in all benefit programs

Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Minimum of at least 3+ years of experience in the analysis and/or administration of benefits programs.

 

 

Required skills:

Minimum Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office skills including Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Payroll/HRIS experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of ACA, COBRA, ERISA, and related state and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, administrative and project management skills
  • Outsourced transactional experience is needed.
  • Previous experience evaluating, improving or developing new processes
  • Self-starter and ability to work under deadline pressures.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers
